OUR FLAGSHIP PROGRAMME

PMDD in Primary Care

Pattern Health Education's first programme focuses on Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), an under-recognised hormone-related condition that can be challenging to identify within routine primary care.

PMDD is often recognised late in the patient journey

Women commonly describe symptoms for years before premenstrual dysphoric disorder is recognised, often attending several appointments across different clinicians.

Where the cyclical nature of symptoms is not identified, treatment may be directed at another presentation and the underlying pattern remains unaddressed.

Earlier recognition can support a better patient experience and more consistent management across a team, with the potential to reduce avoidable repeat consultations associated with delayed recognition.

This programme equips clinicians to identify PMDD confidently and apply practical management strategies within the appointment they already have.
